Michigan requires an LPN license from the Michigan Board of Nursing, administered by LARA's Bureau of Professional Licensing. Applicants complete a board-approved practical nursing program (typically about 12 months), meet English proficiency and implicit bias training requirements, apply through the MiPLUS online system, and pass the NCLEX-PN. Michigan is not a Nurse Licensure Compact state as of this research (July 2026), so nurses licensed elsewhere must obtain a Michigan license by endorsement.
