Michigan does not license medical assistants - LARA issues no MA credential. Public Health Code Section 333.16215 authorizes physicians to delegate selected acts to unlicensed individuals under supervision, so an MA's day-to-day scope is set by the supervising practice, not the state. There is no state exam or hour minimum; a voluntary CMA (AAMA) or CCMA (NHA) certification from a 9-12 month program or apprenticeship is the common hiring standard.
